Peanut Butter Bread Recipe from 1932 You Need to Try (NO Yeast or Eggs!)
You won’t believe this viral easy peanut butter bread is from 1932!
Looking for a frugal recipe idea? This vintage, quick bread recipe uses minimal ingredients – just 6 common pantry staples, and no yeast or eggs.
I was so excited to try out this recipe and was thrilled when the peanut butter bread loaf turned out delicious!
Anyone can bake this Peanut Butter Bread!
As far as the process goes, things couldn’t be easier! It’s a one-bowl batter recipe, and I followed the directions as written, except for adding an extra tablespoon of peanut butter to the 1/2 cup the recipe called for, with hopes of a stronger peanut butter taste!
The batter gets poured into a greased loaf pan and baked for about an hour. Mine was ready pretty much right at the 60-minute mark of baking time. You’ll need to allow the loaf to cool before transferring it out of the pan.
Once cooled, you can slice and enjoy as desired! It tastes great, and almost like a peanut butter cookie, but less sweet. The peanut butter taste is subtle, and the texture is nice! Overall, this recipe was a winner for me and my family, and I love it as a pantry staple to bake at home!
Extra Tips for making this easy Peanut Butter Bread:
- I wanted to try Peanut Butter Bread as written first, but next time I’d like to maybe try adding some chocolate chips or butterscotch chips for a sweeter version!
- I used creamy Skippy peanut butter because it’s what I had on hand and I loved the results. You could definitely use chunky peanut butter or even another nut butter if desired.
- There are so many awesome ways you can serve Peanut Butter Bread! You could toast a slice with a little jam or jelly, spread with Nutella, top with sliced bananas, or add a drizzle of honey.
Here’s how I topped my warm bread slice!
A piece of peanut butter bread with sliced bananas and a drizzle of honey was super delicious paired with a cup of coffee for breakfast this morning. Next time, I’d love to toast a piece with jelly. YUM!
This Crazy Cake tastes delicious and uses minimal ingredients (NO eggs)!
