We aren’t the only ones who love these free passes…
We used this pass this past summer and had SO MUCH FUN!! We only drove 15 hours to the Grand Canyon, but it took us 6 days to get there because we hit everything between us and it. It saved us so much money too. I can’t wait for my daughter to hit 4th grade in a couple of years…😃
We used this last year with our 4th grader. We went to the Badlands, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Devil’s Tower Monument. The national parks are not free and require entrance fees, so the pass for the 4th grade is an excellent opportunity.
We love this program! Fourth graders are at a wonderful age to utilize the national parks and become lifelong lovers of the outdoors and the parks.
Keep planning your next adventure with more hot travel tips and deals!
National parks also offer free federal land pass for active duty, gold star family, and veterans.

Thanks for sharing, Dina! ❤️
In addition to visiting any park or site run by the National Park Service, most have the Junior Rangers program. You go to the Ranger Station and ask for the book and they have activities for the kids to do. Younger kids have to complete fewer and older kids have to complete more. After completing the book, you take it back to the Ranger Station and the kids get their Junior Ranger Badge and they can stamp the back of them with the date of your park visit. If you want to skip the first visit to the Ranger Station, you can print them from home. It is free to do.
So fun! Thank you for sharing about the Junior Rangers Program available at some parks, Wendy! Good to know!
